Our team combines decades of experience, a shared commitment to personalized service, and a deep appreciation for the trust our clients place in us.
Barbara Twist, CPA, founded her accounting career after graduating from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Business Administration. She initially paused her career to raise a family, later returning to UK to complete accounting coursework and earn her CPA license in 2000. Over the years, Barbara has worked with several well-established Lexington firms, building strong client relationships and developing a passion for the personal side of public accounting.
In 2012, Barbara joined Kehrt & Associates part time and remained a steady presence through many seasons of the firm. After a brief retirement in 2022, she returned full-time when Roger Kehrt needed support following a key team member’s departure. When Roger received a cancer diagnosis in July 2024, Barbara stepped in once again. In 2025, Barbara and her son, Greg Twist, officially purchased the firm and founded Twist CPA Group, PLLC.
Greg Twist is also a University of Kentucky graduate, earning his degree in Economics. He began his career with the FDIC and the IRS before shifting into public accounting. Drawn to the collaborative and client-focused nature of the profession, Greg joined Kehrt & Associates part time and quickly transitioned to a full-time role. He is currently studying for the CPA Exam.
We’re proud to have a dedicated and experienced team. Julie Wilson, who has worked in local CPA firms since 2011, specializes in bookkeeping and tax preparation, particularly for real estate professionals. Belinda James brings extensive experience in administrative support, payroll, and bookkeeping for CPA firms. She is the friendly, reliable voice of Twist CPA Group and a key resource for our clients.

A Legacy Built on Relationships — Continuing the Work of Roger Kehrt
Kehrt + Associates was founded by Roger Kehrt in 1988 as a small tax practice. Over more than three decades, Roger grew the firm year after year without advertising—solely through word of mouth and the deep trust he built with his clients. His personal attention, thoughtful advice, and genuine care for each individual helped form lasting relationships that went far beyond tax returns.
Today, that legacy continues as Twist CPA Group, PLLC. While the name is new, the heart of the firm remains the same. We—Barbara, Greg, Julie, and Belinda—have all worked alongside Roger and are proud to carry on the approach that made this firm special.
We’re honored to continue serving the clients Roger cared so deeply about. Our goal is to maintain the same standard of trust, respect, and personalized service that he built this firm on.
